The pairing of inn and restaurant provides an unusual opportunity for sampling freshly prepared home-style Czech food. The close proximity of the Charles Bridge and the setting the district known as Mala Strana conspire to create the illusion of history drawing nearer. U bile kuzelky, the building in which the inn is housed, was designed by the Bohemian Baroque architect Krytof Dientzenhofer as a family dwelling. Its construction took seven years, from 1708 to 1714, and it has been designated a national cultural treasure. The Lokal Inn offers a choice of eight double rooms and four suites together with a broad range of services. The rooms and suites, which have recently been refurbished, are furnished with elegant handmade furniture. The suites retain the original painted wooden ceilings, which date from the eighteenth century and are of considerable historic interest. The attic rooms contain the original wooden beams.
